    We also believe in a fair pricing structure. No matter what package you choose, your fee is all-inclusive. Cover images, Library of Congress registration and corrections are all included in the initial setup fee. The book is also marked returnable at no charge to the author. From manuscript through production and into distribution, that is all you pay. Period. No surprises.

    All our covers are designed especially for the content of your book. Our designers speak with you directly to get your thoughts and then present you with recommendations based on your discussions as well as our own expertise. We also take as much time on the interior as we do the covers, reviewing all the text for excessive hyphenation, bad page breaks, etc. These things will take a book, visually, from an amateur to a professional presentation. We believe in the books we accept and believe that it is our obligation to bring it to the marketplace in the best possible form, giving it the best chance for success. The presentation of a book is very important; if a reviewer picks up a book and it looks poorly done, he won’t even consider reviewing it, no matter how well it may be written.

    We are also selective in the manuscripts we accept. This is for one reason, and one reason only: We care about our authors. Some manuscripts that come to us are just not ready to be published. If we were to just accept the author’s money and publish those as they are, it would be raising unrealistic expectations in the author’s mind as to sales and acceptance in the marketplace. That is why we require the manuscripts we do accept to be professionally edited. Editing may be the best money authors can spend while self-publishing their work. Many excellent editors can be found under Author Services on our site. These are editors we have worked with and can recommend. We receive no compensation if you work one-on-one with any of these editors, these are listed only to make the job of finding an editor a little easier. We also offer in-house editing services through Cold Tree Press.

    Some self-publishers are going the route of cheap and fast. That is not who we are. We are a publisher for the serious writer who understands the time and care necessary to produce a quality work and the ultimate benefits derived from that process.
